    Painting of the Merigar East Gompa

    The Merigar East Gompa that was inaugurated during the summer retreat with Chögyal Namkhai Norbu is still not quite finished. What is missing is the final touch: decorative painting on the inside and outside painting to give the building a color that will ensure it fits nicely in the overall landscape.

    Construction of the dormitory

    The aim of this project is to create a multi-purpose Dormitory that will serve also as a Restaurant, Office and Meeting area.  So far we have used tents and the old wooden barn for these purposes. This is not very comfortable during big summer retreats, so we want to develop.

    Merigar East Sang Khangs

    The rite of Sang is an important practice for communicating with the local guardians. A Sang Khang (bsangs khang) is a fireplace for burning aromatic firewood such as fresh tuija or cypress, and spreading the fragrant smoke in the environment.

    Merigar East Stupas

    Stupa is the oldest Buddhist monument. Originally stupas were built to enshrine the relics of the Buddha and his most important disciples. As symbolic representation of the enlightened mind of the Buddha, they are of great significance and importance. Building a stupa is considered extremely beneficial.

    Fund raising project of Planting Trees

    At Merigar East we are now entering into a new phase of development in which we will working on the landscape, and this fall we will plant fifty trees, mainly around the fence and the camping area, to improve the conditions for people who stay for longer or shorter period of time.
